I'm delighted that your Stars in the Salon videos are posted online. I eagerly look forward to the video of this talk.

I do have two questions that I would like to put to your Marschallin, the lovely Twyla Robinson. Please feel free to determine if these are sufficiently germane queries for the purposes of the Salon talk. (I won't be offended if they don't qualify.)

1. Do you have any past recordings/performances of the work that you look to for inspiration (e.g., Karajan's productions, first under Schwarzkopf, then Anna Tomowa Sintow)?

2. (This is something of a 'method acting' question, but pertinent, I think, given that youth and the passage of time are central themes in the opera.) Have you ever considered what the Marschallin was like in her younger years, and how these qualities have changed by the time the events of the opera unfold? Or is she still much the same woman now that she was in her ingénue youth? And incidentally, I wonder if character-background reflections such as this are helpful in preparation for the role.
